How does it work?

The Toul Meditech technology provides a horizontal ultraclean laminar airflow which is directed directly over the surgical site and instruments, acting as a barrier and minimizing the presence of bacteria-carrying particles.

An easy to use control system helps the user direct airflow in the most effective way: a camera assists in determining airflow direction and an integrated sensor determines the correct distance from the surgical site for maximum effect. An integrated display allows the user to check and verify the set-up.

Ambient air is passed through a HEPA filter and a Laminar Air Flow (LAF) screen. The ultraclean air leaves the screen as a laminar (turbulence-free) flow, pushing contaminated air forwards, away from the risk zone and into the room, to be absorbed by the conventional ventilation system. Sterile, single-use LAF screens guarantee sterile flow. The sterile LAF screen is furnished with a unique bar code that is recorded in the control system at each operation. By recording the bar codes the operator can always be assured that the equipment has been used in a proper and intended way.

The integrated camera in TOUL 200 and TOUL 400 can transmit video signals to other video equipment.

HEPA-filter:

The HEPA(High Efficiency Particulate Air) Filteris used for filtering the air from particles with an efficiency of 99,97% on particles > 0,3 um
The lifetime of the HEPA filter is determined of its use, but normal life time is estimated to 6-12 months. A sensor will indicate when it should be changed.

Laminar Air Flow (LAF) Screen:

The LAF screen distributes the ultraclean laminar air flow. The screen consists of a filter and an outer disposable screen, and should be replaced before every operation.
LAF = Laminar Air Flow

LAF = Laminar Air Flow
Air speed > 0,4 m/sec in defined area
Creates uniform air streams
Air changes 400 cubic meters/h
