How efficient are Toul’s air flow devices to prevent COVID-19?

Toul Meditech have been working for several years with clean air solutions using HEPA filtration which pay an important role in preventing air borne contamination. We have had many questions lately about the protection and safety with the use of our products in respect to Corona.

Toul’s products Operio and SteriStay uses HEPA filtration of class 14 which has an efficiency of at least 99.995 % to filter particulates of sizes less than 0,18 µm. Operio and SteriStay has an air velocity of 400 m3/h and a MPPS (Most Penetrating Particle Size) of 0,145 µm at that speed. See the graph below:

The graph shows that viruses of a size of 0,05-0,15 µm will be captured in the filter efficiently including the Corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) which is approximately 0.1 um in size. As long as the device is running, the number of airborne pathogens in a contained space will be continually reduced with each circulation of room air through the HEPA filter.

When used in conjunction with other anti-contamination practices, and operated as instructed in the user manuals, the Operio and SteriStay are recommended as a tool for healthcare and other facilities to minimize the spread of the Corona virus and other airborne contaminants between 0.5-0.15 um in size.
